From September 11 to 18, 2026, a working visit of the Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of SumDU, Professor Roman Moskalenko, and Assistant Professor of the Department Anastasia Denysenko to Wroclaw (Poland) took place. The visit was implemented within the framework of the international project of the HORIZON EUROPE program “Towards development of new antibacterial strategy for dentistry” (ARGO, CORDIS ID: #101086441).

The main purpose of the trip was a working meeting and coordination of research tasks with the key industrial partner of the consortium, NanoWave, and its representative Rafał Banasiuk.

NanoWave occupies a critically important place in the ARGO consortium as a developer and manufacturer of high-quality silver nanoparticles. These nanostructured components are the main active substance in the creation of a new antibacterial filling material for dentistry and osteoplasty. During the meeting, SumDU scientists received new batches of high-quality nanoparticles necessary for the final stages of the experimental part of the project. The working discussions became an important milestone in the preparation for the second series of experiments on an animal model (in vivo studies on pigs), which will soon begin at the Ukrainian-Swedish Research Center SUMEYA. The data transfer schedule and methodological nuances of assessing the biocompatibility and antibacterial effectiveness of materials were also agreed.

The results of the visit create a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the grant tasks and the completion of the current stage of international research.
